Take Action.

Write the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) are currently holding consultations on several of their policies, including the sections that take away conscience protections for the doctors they regulate. Rather than asking you to fill out their lengthy survey, we have a sample email which you can personalize if you wish.

The sample letter asks them to amend their current policy so that doctors will not be forced to make arrangements for euthanasia assessments if it’s against their conscience. We’re also asking that they do not add anything to the policy that would force doctors to inform patients of their potential eligibility for euthanasia before the patient makes a request. This change, supported by euthanasia advocates, would have the effect of lowering patient morale and promoting euthanasia.

Now that Bill C-7 has passed, greatly expanding access to euthanasia, it is critical that we support physicians who are committed to helping their vulnerable patients live, not hastening their death.

Sign up to see the sample email. Click send to e-mail the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Your email will be posted to the discussion board of the Medical Assistance in Dying consultation.
